TSU recently held a ribbon cutting for their new TIGER (TSU Interdisciplinary Graduate Engineering Research) Institute, located in the Research and Sponsored Programs building, originally designed by JJCA in 2007 as a state-of-the-art research facility. JJCA was re-engaged to build out 9,500 total square feet of shell space that had been left empty during original construction to create the additional research labs that will house material sciences, renewable energy and computational modeling research.”
The institute, funded with a $1.2 million ARRA grant, currently has seed research funding and partnerships from the National Science Foundation, Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Air Force, Boeing and General Motors in the areas of science visualization and computation, cyber-security, smart sensor networking, nano-materials and advanced energy systems.
