David E. Johnson, principal, has practiced architecture for more than 25 years and was instrumental in starting the firm alongside his father, founding partner, Ed Johnson, who passed away in 2003. In his tenure with the firm, David has managed hundreds of healthcare projects, and developed many of the project management tools and applications which guide JJCA in the delivery of quality service to clients. In 2008, David passed the managing partner torch, carried since the firm's inception, to David Brown. He has shifted his considerable leadership talents into training and mentoring and continues in his strong planning and project management role.
Outside of work, David has been involved for more than 18 years in Appalachia Service Project, a ministry for 9th — 12th graders that provides home repairs and other housing services to low-income homeowners in Central Appalachia. David is also father of twin boys and two daughters, and a farmer. All of that, and his hobby as a model railroader, keep him really busy, all the livelong day.
