It's a given that everything we design is with an eye toward the future. That's why our philosophy is founded not only designing buildings, but developing relationships that endure. Our relationship with Johnston Medical Center began in 1995 and, through planning and nurturing, has resulted in the shared vision and teamwork that is creating an entire medical campus. We believe that every project, just like every relationship, is a lifelong work in progress.
Working within a budget is a challenge we accept with gusto. That's how our masterplan began with Johnston Medical more than ten years ago. The first order of business was to improve traffic flow in an existing structure. The bigger picture was to understand that Johnston Medical had to balance a vision for the future with the real world. They needed a master plan that supported filling in the blanks as budget and opportunity would allow.
From improved traffic flow, to a prototype for shared spaces between government agencies, Johnston Medical continues their measured, but masterful growth. The current Patient Tower project will put a new face on several major enhancements. A new front entrance will lead to new lobbies, waiting areas, a private check-in admissions area, and larger indoor/outdoor dining, all designed to take advantage of natural daylight complemented by warm, rich materials. Patient rooms are being enlarged and updated, an operating suite added, and OB facilities expanded. And we're always looking ahead to anticipate what will come next.
